An NFC North rival recently showed interest in a former Green Bay Packers draft pick this week. The Packers have seen a lot of turnover at safety in recent seasons. And the Detroit Lions could add a former Packers safety after a workout.
The Detroit Lions work out a former Green Bay Packers draft pick
According to Aaron Wilson with KPRC, the Lions worked out former Packers 2020 seventh-round pick Vernon Scott.

Scott was with the Packers for three seasons before being released this April. He spent last season on injured reserve. Scott never started a game for the Packers.

Scott’s first sack in the NFL came against the Lions in the second week of the 2020 season. He has 13 total tackles in the league. Scott signed with the Carolina Panthers this May but was released in June.
As of this publishing, the Lions have not signed Scott. Scott would be an interesting in-division pickup for the Lions.
Scott could not make the Packers training camp roster on a team that signed and drafted multiple safeties after losing Adrian Amos this offseason. The Packers are still trying to find a reliable safety to play alongside Darnell Savage.
