NFL News: DeAndre Hopkins remains one of the premier free agents left available during the 2023 NFL off-season. The Arizona Cardinals released the All-Pro wide receiver during OTAs. The New England Patriots and the Tennessee Titans have already shown significant interest in the All-Pro wide receiver. One more team came out of the woodwork to show heavy interest as well… the Cleveland Browns. Now one team officially backed out of the race to sign the veteran All-Pro.
Cleveland Brown Back Out Of The DeAndre Hopkins Sweepstakes

Cleveland Browns WR Elijah Moore has impressed the team, so much to the point where SI’s Albert Breer says don’t expect them to pursue Hopkins any further than they already have.
“By all accounts, he had a really strong spring and he contributed to the comfort level that Cleveland had with its receiver room, which is a reason why the team hasn’t dipped its toe into the DeAndre Hopkins sweepstakes quite yet (and probably won’t, barring some sort of material change),” wrote Breer.
Where Does That Leave DeAndre Hopkins In Free Agency? (NFL News)

DeAndre Hopkins seems intent on not settling for less than the $15 million Odell Beckham Jr. got. The former Arizona Cardinals pass-catcher was heavily tied to the Chiefs and Buffalo Bills, as competing for a Super Bowl was also a priority. Those two squads – for the moment – appear to have taken a backseat.
Hopkins has taken an official visit with the New England Patriots and the Tennessee Titans. Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk even reported that the Tennessee Titans made a “financial offer” to wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins before he left Nashville. For now, those two teams seem to be in the drivers seat.
Could The Green Bay Packers Still Target DeAndre Hopkins For Jordan Love?

The Packers could be an upgrade for DeAndre Hopkins if general manager Brian Gutekunst wants to be aggressive in the wide receiver market. Head coach Matt LaFleur has said he’d prefer the Packers have a veteran wide receiver for Jordan Love to throw to. Love would certainly benefit from Hopkins’ big frame to target in pressure situations.
Early in the 2023 off-season, the Green Bay Packers were even the favorite to land Hopkins. The Packers currently have more than $16 million in cap space. The ability to sign a veteran wide receiver is certainly there, however, is the interest? There has been little to no interest shown by the Green Bay Packers’ front office to sign a veteran wide receiver, let alone the most expensive one on the market.
There would likely have to be a big change to their current roster in order for the Packers to consider dipping into free agency. The team has made it clear they are confident in Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, Samori Toure, Jayden Reed, and even Aaron Jones out of the backfield.
