NFL news: It’s no secret that Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love’s success this coming season will be significantly impacted by the performance of his teammates. This is exactly why the young quarterback is already going out of his way to make sure that he’s on the same page with them even before they take to the field.
Love recently organized an informal workout session with Aaron Jones and a handful of other teammates — a move that has clearly paid dividends not only for Love, but for the other players as well.
NFL News: Jordan Love Organized Offseason Workout with Aaron Jones, Other Teammates

Star running back Aaron Jones recently shared the details of the offseason workout session Love decided to organize in Sta. Ana, California. According to Jones, it was much more than just an impromptu mini-camp:
“We were like, ‘Hey, we should get as many guys out there as we can,'” recalled Jones, via Wes Hodkiewicz of Packers.com.
“Jordan spearheaded it after that and sent out the text messages, ‘Hey, these are the days. If you can make it, great. If you can’t, that’s fine, but this is what we’re going to be doing. We’re going to bond. We’re going to hang out. We’re going to get on the field and work.'”
Jones had nothing but good things to say about Love. At this point, the Packers RB has made it abundantly clear that he wants to see the young QB attain as much success as he can as he embarks on a crucial season ahead:
“He cares about the guys in this locker room,” said Jones. “He wants to be successful, and he wants us to be successful. He wants all of us clicking when we come back here and make it easier on the coaches and ourselves. We’ve gone through that playbook. We got that conditioning in and we got to spend that time together, just bonding.”
Love himself spoke out about the training session, which was followed by a handful of other off-field activities that allowed the players to bond. It sounds to me like it was a smashing success:
“We had a good time out there,” Love said. “Usually in the offseason, you’re throwing with other people that don’t run the same routes that you run in your offense, so just being able to have that familiarity and build those connections with those guys was awesome.”
You have to give credit to Jordan Love here for taking the time and making the effort to reach out to his teammates and make sure that, as he said, they build a connection early on.

Apart from Love and Jones, Christian Watson, Dontayvion Wicks, and Danny Etling also attended the training session. Second-year wide receiver Romeo Doubs also made the trip, as well as 2023 second-round pick Jayden Reed.
Reed also shared his thoughts on the workout and it seems that it has had the desired effect on the young wide receiver:
“We’re a young group so we gotta do a little different, build a little chemistry faster than usual,” Reed said. “It’s just getting together, getting that brotherhood, getting to know the guy outside of football a little more. That just builds a lot more trust. That comes on the field whether you see it or not, that helps out when we’re out there competing.”
Perhaps even more important than the training sessions were the dinners that the group went to together. They also went bowling after their initial go-karting plans fell through.
“I thought that might have been the best thing we’ve done this offseason was just to get together and to continue to keep working at the concepts,” said Doubs. “The timing, the route tree, how to run them, everything. I thought that was the best thing this offseason. We went bowling, we had a couple nice dinners out there.”
The big test now for this group is if all this effort translates to their play on the field. We shall soon find out.
