Some New York Giants fans are speculating running back Saquon Barkley’s time with the team is over after the offense added two players to its roster Friday.
The Giants signed wide receiver Cole Beasley and running back James Robinson before their training camp next week. Robinson’s addition comes days after the Giants missed the deadline to extend Saquon Barkley before the franchise tag offer was locked in. Barkley is not planning to attend the Giants training camp, and he very well could sit out the start of the season or beyond.
There have rumors floating that the Giants could trade their star running back. Those rumors will only continue to ramp up after the team has aggressively worked out and signed players to fill Barkley’s potential absence on the roster.

Barkley was upset after being unable to finalize a long-term deal with the Giants. He made statements that appeared to direct his frustrations toward his teammates. That could be a strategy for future negotiations and doesn’t mean his time in New York is done.
