Earlier today, the Green Bay Packers announced that they had agreed to a contract with second round pick, tight end Luke Musgrave. That signing left Jayden Reed, who also was taken in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft, as their only pick who had not signed.
After the Musgrave signing was announced, Reed’s agent, David Canter of GSE Football, announced that he, too, had agreed to terms with the Packers.
Congratulations to @gsefootball client @JaydenReed5 on signing his rookie contract with @packers

Jayden Reed Will Be a Major Contributor for the Green Bay Packers

Jayden Reed was the Packers’ first second round pick this year. They took him with the 42nd overall pick, marking the second consecutive season they took a wide receiver in the second round of the NFL Draft. Of course, Christian Watson was drafted in the second round by the Packers in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Reed projects to be a major contributor for the Packers from the start. He is already considered to be the third-best wide receiver on the roster behind Watson and Romeo Doubs. His size projects perfectly as a slot receiver, though he does have the ability to lineup on the outside as well.
In 2021, at Michigan State, Reed had 59 receptions for 1,026 yards and 10 touchdowns. He also had seven carries for 34 yards and a single rushing touchdown.
Last season, Michigan State’s offense took a major step backwards, but Reed was still an effective receiver. He had 55 receptions for 636 yards and five touchdowns.
Reed has certainly been putting in the work despite not signing his contract until July 19. He was recently identified in some photos on Aaron Jones’ Instagram account. The photos were of Jones, Jordan Love, and several Packers players working out and practicing together in California.
Aaron Rodgers never took such measures with his rookie wide receivers last season. Still, Watson was able to put up over 600 yards receiving despite not having chemistry with his quarterback until midseason. If Love and Reed get on the same page early on, both could be in for impressive seasons.
