One of the biggest stories of the Green Bay Packers’ 36-19 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals on Friday night was how well quarterback Jordan Love played. Playing in two series, Love completed seven of ten passes for 46 yards and a touchdown. His performance was good for a 112.9 passer rating and a PFF grade of 75.6 (high-quality).
Sean Clifford played for the majority of the rest of the game, but both head coach Matt LaFleur and Love himself hinted that the new starting quarterback in Green Bay may play longer in the team’s upcoming preseason games. It is important, after all, to keep building chemistry with the offense and to get all the reps in that Love possibly can.

From the sound of it on Sunday, Love picked up where he left off against the Bengals on Friday.
Green Bay Packers Insider Says Jordan Love “Was Dealing”
Sunday’s practice was closed to the general public. However, members of the media were still allowed to observe practice. Bill Huber of Sports Illustrated wrote of Love’s performance:
“From start to finish, starting quarterback Jordan Love was dealing.
“During his first series of plays, he was 4-of-5 including two explosive gains to rookie tight end Luke Musgrave. The first came off fake jet-sweep action to Christian Watson, which got Musgrave open behind the linebackers. Watson celebrated that play as much as anyone. Later, Love spun away from pressure and flung a ball to AJ Dillon. Finally, it was Love to Musgrave again, this time with the touch to get the ball over linebacker Quay Walker.”
Huber reported that Love finished 17 of 23 on the day for four touchdowns and no interceptions.
Of course, it is great to see that Love is stacking positive days in the preseason. He and the Packers as a whole will face a new challenge this week as they partake in joint practices with the New England Patriots.
