The Green Bay Packers defeated the Cincinnati Bengals 36-19 on Friday night in their first preseason game of the year. It was a highly anticipated event largely due to the fact that it was Jordan Love’s first preseason game as the the starting quarterback of the Packers.
Love played just two series in the game, finishing his night with a 70% completion percentage, 46 passing yards, and a touchdown. To those that watched, Love looked cool and collected, one might say natural, while playing quarterback.
Ever since the game, Love has been the recipient of several rave reviews from fans and media personalities alike. On Monday, he got some more positive feedback from the guys on “The Pat McAfee Show.”

One of the personalities on the show, Ty Schmit, is also a big Packers fan. McAfee and Schmit had a short discussion about how impressed they were with Love.
McAfee: “Jordan Love. I think he looked really good, Ty Schmit. I don’t know what you’re thinking, I don’t know how you’re thinking. I know you liked them to win the division, just like a couple of weeks ago. Now this is what you’re seeing and hearing. How are you feeling, Ty?
Schmit: “Yeah, I still like them to win the division. You can say what you want, you know a lot of people of s—-ing on him because the Bengals weren’t playing any starters. He can’t control that. We were talking about it before the show: he just looks comfortable out there. He looks like he belongs.”

They praised Love’s touch on his touchdown pass to Romeo Doubs and talked about how the fact that the Bengals did not play any starters should not matter. Other first string players have struggled against non-starters already this preseason.
There is certainly a great deal of hype surrounding Love, especially after his showing against the Bengals. If he can continue to stack good days and the offense is finding its groove, perhaps they really can make a run for the division.
