Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson will have two years remaining on his contract with the franchise and he is going to be entering his third NFL season. He was hurt for most of last season and was dealing with hamstring issues.
His rookie season was better than his second season. Watson caught 28 passes for 422 yards receiving and five touchdowns, along with averaging 15.1 yards per reception. He was targeted 53 times by quarterback Jordan Love. Watson and Love did not have great chemistry last season until late in the year.

Christian Watson is only 24 years old and it will be interesting to see what kind of plans the Packers have for him this season. He still has potential and they were reluctant to trade him last season. Have they changed their minds about Watson moving forward? Do they think he is injury-prone and won’t stay healthy despite the talent he has?
Dairylandexpress.com Writer Randy Gruzi Thinks That Green Bay Packers Wide Receiver Christian Watson Can Be One of Three Players Traded On NFL Draft Day

Gruzi thinks that the Packers could be moving on from Watson before the start of the 2024 season. His reasoning was as follows:
“As a rookie, he came along slowly but came alive in a Week 10 win over the Cowboys. Watson had 107 yards and three touchdowns, which led to a 611-yard and seven-touchdown campaign. In year two, he saw his numbers dip as he finished with 422 yards and five touchdowns while playing in just nine games. He was back for the playoffs after battling a hamstring injury but finished with two catches for 20 yards in two games. With him sidelined, Green Bay was able to lean on Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed, and Dontayvion Wicks. Throw in their two rookie tight ends and their roster is strong enough to potentially trade Watson — especially if they add a receiver early in the draft.”
It would be hard to believe that the Packers would use the 25th pick on a wide receiver in the 2024 NFL Draft. They need help at cornerback, offensive line, running back, and safety way more than they need help at wide receiver.
If Green Bay were to go that route, it would spell the end of Watson and it would be mind-boggling if they drafted a wide receiver in the first round. It’s one thing if they wanted to take one in the fourth or the fifth round to get some more depth at that position, but that would be totally silly if general manager Brian Gutekunst did that.

The Buffalo Bills could use some help at wide receiver since they traded wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans. That is a place where Watson could get traded if they were to take a wide receiver in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Do not count on Green Bay making a move like this season. They are going to try to make it work for at least another season with Christian Watson and then see where it goes from there.
