NFL: The Green Bay Packers will have a new-look offense in 2023. Headlined by their franchise-altering Aaron Rodgers trade, the Packers offense got a facelift this off-season. Veterans such as Allen Lazard, Randall Cobb, Robert Tonyan, and Marcedes Lewis will be playing ball elsewhere in 2023. The influx of new talent has been at an all-time high. Today, the Packers made one of those new young talents official.
The Green Bay Packers Officially Sign Wide Receiver Jayden Reed (NFL)
Second-round receiver Jayden Reed signed his four-year rookie deal, his agent, David Canter, tweeted. It came a few hours after the Packers announced the signing of second-rounder Luke Musgrave. The Green Bay Packers now have all 13 draft picks under contract.
Reed, a receiver, began his college career at Western Michigan before transferring to Michigan State for his final three seasons. His junior season was his best season, with 59 receptions for 1,026 yards and 10 touchdowns.
What Will Jayden Reed Bring To The Green Bay Packers Offense?
Jayden Reed brings a whole lot of explosiveness and versatility to the receiver room in Green Bay which should complement Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs fantastically. Reed does a lot of things well when diving into his tape and scouting report. Playing in the slot role on the offense will be his best bet for personal and team success.
In many ways the Packers drafted a player who could very well take Cobb’s role as the security blanket for the quarterback. Fans can expect Reed to get many passes in the middle of the field or on shorter routes to pick up crucial first downs. Additionally, Reed brings punt return abilities that they team may decide to utilize while keep All-Pro returner Keisean Nixon as the primary kickoff return specialist.
