The Green Bay Packers are one of the most legendary franchises in the NFL. They are also one of the most recognized football brands not only in the United States but abroad as well.
That may lead to the Packers solidifying a historic opportunity.
The Green Bay Packers Odds Of Playing Abroad Got A Pretty Significant Update

According to commissioner Roger Goodell, the Philadelphia Eagles’ week one opponent in Brazil would be announced “within the next week.” That was during the owners’ meeting in March.
Packers president Mark Murphy leaked that the Packers and the Cleveland Browns were the two teams in consideration.
It’s been two weeks since Goodell’s comments, and we still don’t know if the Browns or Packers will play. However, President Mark Murphy hinted that Green Bay is preparing for the opportunity:
Based on Packers president Mark Murphy’s comments this morning, it sounds like they’re preparing to open the season in Brazil against the Eagles.
Speaking before the annual Tailgate Tour departed, Murphy said: “We’re either the first- or second-most popular team in Brazil.” pic.twitter.com/AObENaLxtV

While Murphy stopped short of confirming that the Packers had indeed been chosen, it is looking very likely that the Packers will be the pick. Wes Hodkiewicz further elaborated on Murphy’s comments:
Mark Murphy was asked quite a bit about possibility of playing in Brazil this morning at Tailgate Tour sendoff. #Packers are still waiting but “anticipate a decision pretty soon.”
“We’re either the first- or second-most popular team in Brazil. … We’re kind of the people’s team. People really like the idea of a community owned team, with our history and tradition.”
“This is very important for the league. The Packers are very popular in Brazil. If we’re chosen, we’ll gladly go.”
