The Green Bay Packers have a surprising option in free agency that could have a massive impact on their offense amid the injuries they are dealing with. Christian Watson and/or Romeo Doubs could miss their season opener which, obviously, would be a game-changer. However, there is one name still out there that the Packers have been linked to in the past that could immediately come in and contribute.
5x Pro-Bowler Jarvis Landry Is Still Available For The Green Bay Packers Via Free Agency
Jarvis Landry is still out there as a free agent, and he could be an easy signing for the Packers before the season starts.
Jarvis, a slot receiver in the back end of his prime who played in just nine games last season. These types of NFL free agents are typically not viewed as attractive options.
It’s not until we realize Landry has a track record of success that we start to think differently. From 2014-21, Landry averaged 950 receiving yards per season and landed five Pro Bowl honors.
The last few seasons have been down years for Landy. Landry played in 15 games in 2020 (the first time he failed to play 16 games) and had 72 receptions for 870 yards. He also had three touchdown catches.
Landry played in just 12 games in 2021. He caught 52 passes for 570 yards and two touchdowns. During Landry’s last fully healthy season (2019), he caught 83 passes for 1,174 yards and six touchdowns (a career-high).
Landry battled an ankle injury throughout the 2022 campaign which is why he only played in those nine games.
I still believe the five-time Pro Bowler can make a significant contribution to the Packers offense when healthy.
