Ben Simmons’ rise and fall with the Philadelphia 76ers is well documented. His departure, in particular, was a captivating storyline that involved a prolonged standoff between the former Rookie of the Year and the Sixers. In the end, Simmons got his wish and he eventually got himself traded to the Brooklyn Nets.
Ben Simmons on Sixers Fans: ‘I’ll Always Have Love for Philly’

In a recent interview with Marc J. Spears of Andscape, Simmons made it abundantly clear that he has nothing but love for Philly. In fact, the Nets guard even went as far as saying that he envisions himself returning to the Sixers somewhere down the road:
“I’ll always have love for Philly,” Simmons said. “People always ask me like, ‘If you were to get traded again where you want it to be?’ I always say, ‘Just Philly. Philly is a second home to me.’ And in time, you learn and grow as people.”
For what it’s worth, Simmons is still under contract with the Nets for the next two years, where he is set to pocket a whopping $78.2 million over the course of the next couple of seasons. It remains to be seen where Simmons will end up in the coming years, but what is clear is that he wouldn’t mind returning to Philly on what he’s hoping will be a redemption run.
Sixers Fans DO NOT Want Ben Simmons Back

It’s all well and good that Ben Simmons has no bad blood against the Sixers. Unfortunately, Philly fans don’t really feel the same way. 76ers supporters are some of the most passionate fans in all of sports, and they just couldn’t help but go full savage on their former star point guard after hearing his recent comments:

I guess it’s safe to say that Sixers fans won’t be welcoming Ben back with open arms if ever the prodigal son returns to the City of Brotherly Love. Then again, as they always say, time heals all wounds. Sixers supporters could be singing a different tune a few years down the road. Then again, maybe not.
