NBA news: The offseason has been characterized by a handful of blockbuster trades that are set to make a significant aspect on the entire league this coming season. One of them was the Golden State Warriors sending Jordan Poole to the Washington Wizards in exchange for Chris Paul. It was a controversial trade, to say the least, not only because of CP3’s history with the Warriors, but also because of what this all meant in terms of Poole’s tenure in Golden State.
NBA News: Klay Thompson Speaks Out on Jordan Poole Trade

Warriors star Klay Thompson has now spoken out about the Dubs deciding to pull the plug on Jordan Poole after giving him a massive four-year extension last summer worth $140 million. Speaking on a recent episode of Podcast P with Paul George presented by Wave Sports + Entertainment, Thompson made his feelings about his now-ex-teammate abundantly clear:
“To be able to play with someone like Chris is an honor, but obviously, it hurts to see Jordan go,” Thompson said (h/t Tristi Rodriguez of NBC Sports). “That’s the nature of the beast that is this business. JP was homegrown, I saw him put the work in, I saw him go 2-for-15 in a game but then he would be in the dungeon, which we call our practice facility because there’s no windows, getting shots up right after the game and that reminded me of my younger self.”
Thompson then discussed Poole’s legacy with the Warriors and how the 24-year-old played an undeniably integral role in Golden State’s title run last year:
“We wouldn’t have won the [2022] championship without him,” Thompson continued. “He was so important to us when Steph [Curry] went down and we played that series against Denver. So Jordan is forever going to be cherished in the Warriors’ lore just for what he did. And I know he’s going to do great things in Washington. … He’s going to flourish out there, I’m happy for him.”
Needless to say, Thompson was sad to see Poole walk out the door. At the same time, however, he’s excited for what’s ahead for the 6-foot-4 combo guard. In fact, Thompson believes that Poole “definitely got All-Star potential” now that he’s in Washington.
NBA News: Bucks Also Lost Important Players This Summer

Much like the Warriors, the Milwaukee Bucks also lost a trio of important players this summer. While none of them were at the same level as Jordan Poole, there’s still no denying that the Bucks will be missing their services this coming season.
First on the list is veteran sharpshooter Joe Ingles, who has now taken his talents to the Orlando Magic. Also leaving via free agency is Jevon Carter, who is now with the Bulls. Finally, Wesley Matthews ended his two-year stint in Milwaukee after agreeing to a new deal with the Atlanta Hawks. They’re no stars, but surely, they will be missed.
