There were a handful of unforgettable moments from Frelick’s amazing debut, which included his 3-of-3 outing, a go-ahead run in the eighth inning, as well as a couple of wild catches in the outfield. However, when asked what he believes was the most unforgettable aspect of his massive performance, the former Boston College standout just had to send a special shoutout to the fans:
“I think these fans are unbelievable,” Frelick said. “Walking out for the first time and getting such a warm welcome, and then going out and being able to give them something to cheer for, it’s gonna be super special.”
Frelick played a huge role in the Brewers’ 4-3 victory over the Atlanta Braves on Saturday, and it had the fans chanting his name. Sal was asked if he noticed the same, and he was totally honest in his response:
“Yeah, I did. It’s pretty cool,” he said with a huge smile on his face.
Take a bow, young man. You absolutely deserve it.
