Four Milwaukee Brewers players made the cut of MLB Pipelines mid-season top 100 prospect list. Among that group are two outfielders, one catcher, and one starting pitcher.
The four players to crack the top 100 were:
- Outfielder Jackson Chourio
- Outfielder Sal Frelick
- Catcher Jeferson Quero
- Starting Pitcher Jacob Misiorowski
Where do the four Milwaukee Brewers players rank in MLB Pipeline’s top 100 prospect list mid-season update?
Milwaukee Brewers prospect Jackson Chourio: #3
Just two other players are ranked higher than teenage phenom Jackson Chourio. They are Jackson Holliday of the Baltimore Orioles and Elly De Le Cruz of the Cincinnati Reds. This isn’t to say that Chourio isn’t performing this year in Double-A. He recently joined the 10 home run and 20 stolen base club, in which the last teenage prospect to accomplish this in the high minors was Ronald Acuna Jr in 2017.
Milwaukee Brewers prospect Sal Frelick: #20
The Brewers first round pick in the 2021 draft does not have the statistics that stand out this year, but that is because he missed a significant amount of time with a thumb injury that required surgery. He returned to Triple-A just a few weeks ago and is a call away from making his major league debut.
Milwaukee Brewers prospect Jeferson Quero: #79
20 year old catcher Jeferson Quero is most known for his defense and strong throwing arm. He is extremely accurate and his 38% caught stealing rate is third best in all of minor league baseball. However this year his offense is coming to life. He already has 10 home runs and a .813 OPS to go along with it. The future is very bright for this international signee from Venezuela.
Milwaukee Brewers prospect Jacob Misiorowski: #93
Jacob Misiorowski was Milwaukee’s second round pick in the 2022 draft and most labeled him as the biggest steal. He has an explosive fastball that hits triple digits and as his outings have gotten longer this season the strikeouts have piled up. This year he struck out 45% of batters in Low-A and recently received a promotion to High-A in which through his first 15.2 innings he has allowed just two earned runs.
Among this group of four it is not surprising that they all landed inside MLB Pipeline’s top 100. The biggest surprise may be that third base prospect Tyler Black was snubbed from this list. He is currently on pace for a 20 home run and 80 stolen base season in Double-A.
