MLB News: The Milwaukee Brewers gave first baseman/designated hitter Jon Singleton a big league opportunity earlier this season. Unfortunately he was eventually designated for assignment and he returned to the Houston Astros on a minor league contract. After being selected by the ball club he had a signature debut back at Minute Maid Park.
Former Milwaukee Brewers player and current Houston Astros member has signature multi home run night after an eight year drought (MLB News).
Jon Singleton, who several years ago signed a big contract with the Houston Astros, has recently made a comeback to baseball. In the mid 2010s he was on the Astros 40-man roster but served several suspensions due to marijuana. He also struggled with depression plus anxiety and was out of affiliated baseball for several years.
In 2022 he signed a minor league contract with the Brewers and was added to their 40-man roster over the offseason. He did not hit a home run in his brief big league stint with Milwaukee, but upon returning to Houston he hit two in his first game back that includes one during his first at-bat.

Prior to Friday, August 11 his last big league home run was in 2015. This makes eight years in between major league long balls and caps off an incredible comeback story.
