The NLDS is in full swing and the Philadelphia Phillies went into Game 2 on Monday leading the series 1-0. The lead didn’t last long as the Atlanta Braves came out victorious in a thrilling 5-4 game.

The Phillies were up by 3-0 in the third thanks to a J.T Realmuto homer, but Austin Riley answered in the bottom of the eighth with a two-run home run, putting the Braves on top as they headed into the ninth.

An 8-5-3 Braves Double Play Ends the Game

Top of the ninth. Bryce Harper is on first and Nick Castellanos is at the plate and in true fashion, Castellanos launched a ball to deep right-center for what would’ve been a home run until Braves center fielder Michael Harris II made an absolutely elite catch at the wall.

Harris then threw the ball back into the infield where Austin Riley scooped it off and fired it to first, getting Harper out at first to end the game.

Once again, it’s an incredible call by Brian Anderson. ⚾️🔥🎙️ https://t.co/hSNube4kDx

MLB fans across the league couldn’t believe what they had just witnessed. Between the base-running by Bryce Harper and the superhuman catch by Harris, emotions were all over the place as the Braves tied the series up 1-1.

What an absolutely insane ending to Game Two in the NLDS.

tomorrow, i will realize that a split is honestly fine and the phillies are back at the bank on wednesday.

    tonight, i am in shambles.

This is all because the Phillies had the day off yesterday. This playoff format has to be restructured

So many emotions here. At first, I legit thought Castellanos hit a homer to give the Phillies the lead. Then Michael Harris II with the catch of his life, AND THEN HARPER GOT DOUBLED OFF TO END THE GAME. Might be one of the best playoff games I’ve seen. pic.twitter.com/1Wbw1cTNTp

Braves rally for 5-4 win over Phillies on d'Arnaud, Riley homers and game-ending double play | Eyewitness News (WEHT/WTVW)

The Braves are the only team in postseason history to be down by four or more runs with no hits through five innings to comeback and win the game.

Atlanta will travel to Philly for Game 3 of the series, hoping to keep their season alive and take a 2-1 lead in the NLDS.
