MLB News: Cody Bellinger bet on himself this offseason by signing a short term deal with the Chicago Cubs. So far that is working out for him and his performance this year has him inline for a massive payday this winter. With one day left in August he currently leads Major League Baseball with 31 RBI this month. He also is second on the Cubs all time leader board for RBI in the month of August in which Sammy Sosa is first.

Sammy Sosa currently owns the Cubs franchise record for most RBI during the month of August with 36. Cody Bellinger put up 31 this year, which puts him in second place. Out of 27 possible games Bellinger delivered at least on RBI in 18 games this August and also had a five RBI performance and four RBI game.
Around the league Julio Rodriguez is in second place for RBI during the month of August with 30. Mookie Betts and Trea Turner are tied for third with 26 and Kyle Tucker has 25 to round out fifth place. At the time of this publication, the last day of August, only Mookie Betts has a game remaining so it is likely that Bellinger will end with the most RBI this month.
