MLB News: The Atlanta Braves have the best record in baseball. They have a high powered offense and great pitching staff. However, they have been relying upon a lot of young pitchers to get them through games. Now news has broken that they will be getting an impact veteran pitcher back in their starting rotation after spending the last three months recovering from an injury.
Atlanta Braves star pitcher Max Fried has been activated off the IL (MLB News).
Max Fried landed on the IL in early May with a forearm strain. He has spent the last three months recovering from injury and today he will make his first start since May 5. Prior to his injury he had a 2.08 ERA through his first five starts.
With Max Fried returning the Braves starting rotation will now have Spencer Strider, Charlie Morton, and Bryce Elder all active. When Fried was out Atlanta was relying upon names such as Jared Shuster, Dylan Dodd, AJ Smith-Shawver, Kolby Allard, Michael Soroka and Yonny Chirinos.
If Fried is able to pick up where he left off then this Braves team will become even more dangerous. They are already viewed as the favorites to win the NL East division and NL pennant. His return will only increase their odds at winning the World Series this season in which they last won in 2021.
