The Milwaukee Bucks have been looking to improve some of the team’s wing depth ahead of the NBA Trade Deadline that continues to inch closer.
One of those wings is New York Knick, Cam Reddish. While the Bucks have shown interest in other players like Jae Crowder and a fan-dream, Jordan Clarkson there has been a constant link with the New York Knicks as of late.
What will it cost?
The name that continues to swirl around in exchange for Reddish is Grayson Allen, as the Knicks have shown interest in acquiring Allen’s services. Though according to HoopHype’s Mike Scotto, the Bucks have been trying to get a deal done without Allen involved.
“Instead, the Bucks have kicked around the idea of a 2023 second-round pick and salary fillers in trade talks with the Knicks for Reddish, league sources told HoopsHype.”
If the Buck were to pull off trading a veteran like Serge Ibaka, George Hill or even 24 year-old Jordan Nwora and a second-round pick for Reddish it would be a great deal on the Milwaukee Bucks end to take a chance on Reddish.
The Former Lottery Selection
Reddish was the 10th overall selection out of Duke University in the 2019 NBA Draft by the Atlanta Hawks. He spent time in Atlanta for two and half seasons before getting dealt to New York last season and has been there since. Reddish has a lot of potential, with a solid three-point shot and solid athleticism on the defensive end but he has not found a steady role on a team yet.
Bucks fans may remember Cam Reddish as he scored 21 points on 6/7 shooting from the three-point range in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals against Milwaukee while he was still on the Hawks. Reddish only has a career average of 10.2 points a game but he has found himself in some tough situations to find minutes. While in Atlanta the team was loaded with wing-depth and in New York playing for a tough coach in Tom Thibodeau is not for everyone. Reddish first needs to find a consistent role on a team and his oozing potential may start to produce more production!
While many fans most likely want a more win now piece like Jordan Clarkson or Jae Crowder this still would be a solid move for the Bucks to make, as they do lack some youth on this team. And, even if the team does acquire Reddish they might still have some pieces to acquire Clarkson or Crowder too.
