Outside of All-Star Damian Lillard, the Milwaukee Bucks’ options on point guards are running low. As such, the front office may consider selecting USC Trojans’ Isaiah Collier in the upcoming NBA Draft to resolve that issue.
After spending his early years playing for Wheeler High School, Collier rose up as a five-star recruit and became the number one prospect for the class of 2023. He then committed to play for USC after receiving offers from UCLA, Michigan, and Cincinnati.

Collier quickly established himself as the Trojan’s starting point guard in his first year playing for the team. Over the course of 27 games, he averaged 16.3 points, 2.9 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 1.5 steals per game. He also shot 49 percent from the field, 33 percent from beyond the arc, and 67 percent from the free throw line.
With his one year of college basketball done, Collier declared for the upcoming 2024 NBA Draft. And while it’s considered a weaker class than previous years, the USC star may help resolve Milwaukee’s need for a stronger backcourt for next season.
Milwaukee Bucks Projected To Select USC Trojans’ Isaiah Collier in 2024 NBA Draft

Although the Bucks may select Duke’s Kyle Filipowski or Indiana’s Kel’el Ware to improve their backup frontcourt rotation, there’s a chance they go for Collier in the draft. In an article written by William Moxon for Behind the Buck Pass:
“Collier’s energy and spirit he plays with are what makes him so great, so the Bucks would not want to take away from that. Instead, it would be about fine-tuning those skills to make him more composed in key moments and cut out the reckless mistakes.
To get Collier, trading up may be the way to go for him if the Bucks really see him as a player for them. He has huge upside, and at 19, there is plenty of potential. He could go well before the Bucks can even get anywhere near him, but still, Isaiah Collier should be on their radar,” Moxon wrote.
As it stands, Milwaukee only has Damian Lillard as the team’s point guard for next season because Patrick Beverley’s contract just expired. Along with resigning the controversial veteran, the front office can reinforce that part of their lineup by drafting Collier.

It remains to be seen which player Milwaukee will go for in the draft. If they choose Collier, though, expect the USC star to make the most of his potential situation in the coming months.
