The Milwaukee Bucks enter Tuesday’s In-Season Tournament quarterfinal matchup against the New York Knicks as the favorites. The Bucks finished the group stage of the inaugural tournament with a 4-0 record, which allowed them to secure home-court advantage against the Knicks.
New York, however, isn’t going to let the underdog tag stop them them from their chance at silverware this season.
Julius Randle Sounds Off on Milwaukee Bucks Matchup
In fact, Knicks star Julius Randle is already making plans for a potential trip to Las Vegas to battle the Indiana Pacers in the semifinals:
“I packed for Vegas,” Randle said, via Peter Botte of the New York Post.
You can’t fault Randle for a lack of confidence. He also isn’t shy about letting the Bucks know that he has every intention of taking them down come Tuesday night.
“We’re excited. We look at it as a great opportunity to come out and play and compete against the best and compete for something. I think every guy in the locker room is excited,” Randle said. “It feels good. We get to see how we stack up against one of the best teams in the league.
“We feel like we are improving every game, every day. Guys individually, and as a team. This will be a good test for us, to just keep pushing the limit of who we are as a team.”
Randle also knows, however, that the Bucks have their number. Milwaukee defeated New York earlier this season, 110-105. This also means that Tuesday’s showdown will be a chance for New York to exact some reveng against their Eastern Conference foes:
“We’ve played them well the past four or five times. Into last season, we played them close games,” Randle said. “We’re kind of looking to get over that hump.
“Obviously, Dame made some great shots the last time we played there. But we feel good about our chances going in.”
