The Milwaukee Bucks are closing in on the inaugural NBA In-Season Tournament title. They finished atop East Group B with an unblemished 4-0 record to secure a semifinal berth against the New York Knicks, who themselves secured the No. 4 seed in the East via a wildcard slot.
If the Bucks win their game against the Knicks on Tuesday, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Co. will be headed to Las Vegas for the semifinals of the in-season tournament.
Milwaukee Bucks Star Giannis Antetokounmpo Already Planning Vegas Trip
Bucks talisman Giannis Antetokounmpo was recently asked to share his thoughts on Milwaukee’s upcoming matchup against the Knicks as well as the prospect of heading to lovely Las Vegas if they win. As it turns out, the former back-to-back MVP has that trip all planned out:
“Whatever happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas,” Giannis said, via Gabe Stoltz of Brew Hoops. “I’m gonna go play some roulette. Double my money.”
Giannis was obviously just kidding around (a bit), but this is still a clear indication of Antetokounmpo’s elite mindset. he’s already envisioned a win against the Knicks, which is obviously no easy task.
The 12-7 Knicks are currently just 1.5 games behind Milwaukee in the standings and it is clear that Jalen Brunson and the rest of the squad aren’t messing around.
The Bucks, however, have the upper hand against the East rivals following their 110-105 win at the Fiserv Forum on November 3. That victory marked Milwaukee’s seventh straight win against the Knicks, and they will obviously want to make it eight in a row come Tuesday night.
What’s at stake in this highly-anticipated contest is a semifinal matchup against either the Boston Celtics or the Indiana Pacers. The fact that the game will be played in a Las Vegas backdrop makes things even more interesting.
