You have to give the New York Knicks a lot of credit for putting up a good fight against the Milwaukee Bucks during Tuesday’s quarterfinals of the NBA’s In-Season Tournament. The Bucks, however, turned it up a notch in the second half to outscore their opponents 72-50 after the break.
It ultimately resulted in a 146-122 blowout win in favor of Milwaukee.
Milwaukee Bucks Dominate Knicks
146 points is no joke. In fact, this is the first time the Knicks have given up as many points since 1979 (h/t Scott Grodsky of CBS 58). That’s a 44-year record that the Bucks just shattered on Tuesday night, which speaks volumes of just how dominant Milwaukee was on the evening.
As always, it was Giannis Antetokounmpo who led the way for the Bucks, dropping a team-high 35 points on 15-of-22 shooting. Damian Lillard also went off in this one for 28 points on an efficient 8-of-13 shooting.
Malik Beasley (18 points on six triples), Khris Middleton (14 points), Bobby Portis (13 points), and even Cameron Payne (12 points) all scored in double figures for the Bucks.
The Knicks, on the other hand, leaned on Julius Randle heavily in this one, with the All-Star power forward racking up a game-high 41 points on 14-of-19 from the field. Jalen Brunson dropped 24 on 10-of-22 shooting.
The Bucks will now want to keep their foot on the gas when they return to action on Thursday in Las Vegas for a semifinal showdown against the Indiana Pacers.
