The Milwaukee Bucks, who are coming off a win versus the Chicago Bulls on Friday will host the Los Angeles Clippers for the first time this season tonight. Los Angeles defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves last night with a score of 89-88 and now travel to Milwaukee for a stretch of back-to-back games.
Los Angeles Clippers vs Milwaukee Bucks Spread Set at 4.5, Over/Under 226.5 Total Points
The spread for tonight’s matchup is set at 4.5 points in favor of the Bucks. Injury designations for Milwaukee include Khris Middleton, who has been ruled out with an ankle injury. Giannis Antetokounmpo (Achilles tendonitis) and MarJon Beauchamp (back spasms) are listed as questionable. For the Clippers, Russell Westbrook has been ruled out with a left-hand fracture.
Los Angeles has a strong 18-12 record on the road this season while managing to go 31-28 and stay above .500 against the spread. While Milwaukee has struggled against the spread with a 26-35 record, they are one of the most dominant teams in the NBA at home managing to achieve a 24-7 record so far this season. The Bucks are also on a 5-game win streak.
The total points line is set at 226.5. Milwaukee, who is the second highest scoring team in the NBA put up 123.5 points per game on average at Fiserv Forum. The Clippers are not too far down the list as they sit in 10th amongst the league in points per game and average 117.2 on the road. There is value in tonight’s contest going over the 226.5 line.
Malik Beasley 10+ Points (-145 on FanDuel Sportsbook)
In his first season as a Buck, Malik Beasley has averaged 11.5 points and just under 4 rebounds a game while shooting a career best 44.7 percent from behind the arc. Beasley has hit his line in 7 of his last 12 games and the Clippers have given up the 6th most points to opposing shooting guards in the last 7 games on average. There is value in Beasley getting at least 10 points in tonight’s contest.
Kawhi Leonard Over 6.5 Rebounds (-130 on Draft Kings Sportsbook)
Kawhi Leonard, who is averaging 24 points and 6.2 rebounds so far this year is favored to go over his rebounds line once again. Leonard has hit this line in 4 of the last 5 games and 9 of the last 10 versus Milwaukee in his career. The Bucks also give up just under 10.5 rebounds per game to opposing power forwards on the season.
James Harden Over 15.5 Points (-110 on FanDuel Sportsbook)
After shooting 0-10 from the field versus Minnesota, I expect a bounce back game from James Harden against the Bucks tonight. Milwaukee has struggled to guard high level playmakers all season and give up the 4th most points in the NBA to opposing point guards. While he has not faced the Bucks as a Clipper, Harden has hit this line in 7 of the last 8 games with multiple different teams. There is value in Harden going over his points line tonight.
Tonight’s matchup will take place at Fiserv Forum and will begin at 8:00 PM Eastern time on NBA TV.
