According to Milwaukee Bucks star Khris Middleton himself, there’s a chance that he will be able to return to action during this current four-game road trip. This is after the three-time All-Star missed his 12th consecutive game on Wednesday night in Milwaukee’s disappointing blowout loss to the Golden State Warriors.
The Bucks have three more road games on the docket before they head back home to Milwaukee, starting with a matchup against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday night. Middleton will not be making his much-awaited return to action in that one.
Milwaukee Bucks Rule Khris Middleton OUT for Lakers Game
While there was a little bit of optimism surrounding Middleton’s status, it comes as no surprise that the Bucks have already officially ruled him out for Friday’s contest due to a lingering left ankle sprain. However, the fact that the team continues to list him as out more than 24 hours before each game seems to be an indication that he isn’t as close to returning as we may all have been led to believe.
After Friday’s contest in LA, the Bucks battle the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday and then the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday. At this point, it seems doubtful that Middleton will be available for either of those games.
Giannis Antetokounmpo Probable to Play
Along with Middleton, Bucks talisman Giannis Antetokounmpo was also included in the injury report for Friday’s contest. The good news, however, is that the two-time MVP is considered probable to play with tendinitis in his left Achilles.
Giannis was listed as questionable heading into Wednesday’s clash against Golden State, but he was able to play through the injury. The fact that he’s probable for Friday’s game only means that unless he suffers some sort of setback between now and tip-off, he should be available to suit up for the upcoming marquee matchup.
