Milwaukee Bucks news: After a drama-filled offseason that centered around his desire to leave the Philadelphia 76ers at the soonest possible time, James Harden decided to rejoin his team on the final day of training camp. He has since skipped a couple of practice sessions leading up to their season-opener against Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks on Friday night.
Be that as it may, Harden reportedly had every intention of suiting up against Milwaukee. The Sixers, however, had other ideas.
James Harden Wanted to Play Vs. Milwaukee Bucks

According to NBA insider Shams Charania of The Athletic, Harden rejoined his team on Wednesday after more than a week-long hiatus:
“After 10 days away, James Harden has reported back to the Philadelphia 76ers for practice today, sources tell @TheAthletic@Stadium,” Shams wrote.
This was a rather surprising development considering how it seemed like Harden was going to hold out from playing for the Sixers. He’s already made it abundantly clear that he wants out, but as it is, there appears to be no sense of urgency from the front office to grant him his wish.
Be that as it may, Harden knew that he was going to be facing some hefty fines if he refused to play. This is likely why he came into Wednesday’s practice with the intention of suiting up on Friday against Milwaukee. As it turns out, though, the Sixers were not on the same page:
“James Harden returned to Philadelphia on Tuesday night with his bags packed to join team on the road for Thursday vs. Bucks and Saturday vs. Raptors, but the 76ers have now asked him not to travel with the team, sources said,” Shams reported.

Harden’s fitness may have been a major concern for the Sixers, and this likely played a key role in their decision to let him stay in Philadelphia. The former back-to-back MVP will now need to take the next few days to try and get himself ready for the team’s first home game of the season on Sunday against the Portland Trail Blazers.
In the meantime, Joel Embiid and Co. will need to battle the new-look Bucks without one of their most important players.
