The Milwaukee Bucks lost an icon of the organization on Wednesday night. This is after it was confirmed that former team owner Herb Kohl had passed away at the age of 88. The former United States senator reportedly battled a brief illness before his death, but the actual cause of his demise has yet to be confirmed.
It’s a sad day not only for the Bucks but for the rest of the basketball world as well.
Milwaukee Bucks Coach Adrian Griffin Reacts to Passing of Herb Kohl
The Bucks took care of business on Wednesday by taking down the Brooklyn Nets at the Brooklyn Center, 144-122. However, before talking about anything else during his post-game press conference, Milwaukee head coach Adrian Griffin delivered a touching eulogy for Kohl:
“Senator Kohl passed away. I just wanted to send our condolences in behalf of the entire Bucks family and organization,” Griffin said. “He was always generous. Always kind to me. I got to work for the Bucks (as an assistant coach) back in 2008-09. Just a humanitarian. It’s a big loss for the Bucks organization and the entire state of Milwaukee (sic). He was such a special human being. If you ever got to know Senator Kohl, man, he was the best. I just wanted to start out with that.”

As Griffin said in his statement, he did not spend much time serving under Kohl’s leadership, but it is clear that the former team owner left quite an impression on the rookie coach. Kohl touched so many lives during his time in this world, which is why there’s no doubt that he will be missed.
May this legend rest in peace.
