The Milwaukee Bucks are set to resume play against the Miami Heat on Friday night. They will do so, most likely, without the assistance of Giannis Antetokounmpo who sprained his wrist right before the All-Star break. The injury kept him out of all but 20 seconds of the All-Star game and completely out of the Skills Challenge (Jrue Holiday filled in for him). Despite his absence, however, other stars were not shy about where they rank him among current NBA players. In fact, two rival Eastern Conference All-Stars named him the best player in the NBA.

Boston Celtics’ Star Jayson Tatum and Cleveland Cavaliers’ Star Donovan Mitchell Say Giannis Is Best in the League

In an interview recorded before the All-Star Game, a panel of four NBA players were asked who they believed was the best player in the NBA. Boston Celtics’ star Jayson Tatum said Giannis:

“How he impacts both sides, scoring, rebounding, how hard he plays. We all have off nights but I feel like when he has an off night it’s still 25 [points] and 15 [rebounds] instead of 40 and 20. And he’s won, he’s won a championship.”

“I think Giannis is the best for sure, Donovan Mitchell echoed.

Giannis, of course, was named to his seventh-straight All-Star game and is averaging a career-high 31.8 points per game. Additionally, he is second in the NBA with 12.2 rebounds per game and is averaging 5.4 assists per game. Giannis is also fourth in the NBA with a 32.7 efficiency rating.
