You can be sure that the Milwaukee Bucks have invested a lot of time and effort in their scouting report ahead of Wednesday’s showdown against the Indiana Pacers. The Bucks will want to win this matchup at all costs after the Pacers stole away their shot at the inaugural NBA In-Season Tournament title via a heartbreaking loss in the semifinal.
At the same time, however, the Pacers have also had a long and hard look at their opponents.
Pacers Coach Sings Praises of Milwaukee Bucks Superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo
Unsurprisingly, the player sitting atop Indiana’s scouting report is Bucks talisman Giannis Antetokounmpo. Ahead of Wednesday’s contest, Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle spoke honestly about the former back-to-back NBA MVP. According to the tenured shot-caller, Giannis’ greatness is simply unprecedented:
“He’s a different kind of force of nature in this game,” Carlisle said, via Gabe Stoltz of Brew Hoops. “There’s never been a player like him. We were talking about Dame. He’s one extreme and Giannis is like — I don’t even know. Ten years ago, if someone tried to describe to me a 7-foot guy that does what he does, I would’ve just looked at them like they were crazy. How is that ever gonna happen? But it’s happened. As a competitor, he’s among the very best I’ve ever seen and I think that everybody would say that.”
I see no lies here. Rick Carlisle has been around long enough to have coached and gone up against all types of NBA superstars. For him to have this type of high praise toward Antetokounmpo speaks volumes of just how much respect and admiration he has for the seven-time All-Star.
Be that as it may, all this will be set aside once the game tips off on Wednesday night. There’s no doubt that Carlisle and his team will do everything they can to hold Giannis down, which obviously, is going to be a gargantuan task.
