For the first time in the history of the NBA, teams will be going up in the quarterfinals of the inaugural In-Season Tournament. The Milwaukee Bucks are one of the eight teams remaining in the tournament and they will be battling the New York Knicks on Tuesday for a spot in the semifinals.
At this point, there’s no denying that the players are not understating the gravity of this upcoming showdown.
Tuesday Is ‘Must-Win’ Game for Milwaukee Bucks
Bucks star Khris Middleton spoke to reporters on Monday as he shed light on the mindset his team has entering the knockout game. According to Middleton, Milwaukee is all in on the upcoming bout:
“We believe it’s kind of a must-win game,” he said. “We want to go to Vegas. We want to play in the championship. We want to win. So tomorrow, I think there’s definitely a little bit more extra motivation in the game knowing that there’s a trip to Vegas at stake. There is $500,000 at stake.
“I think it will be a great game. Not only for (the) regular season against a good team, but like I keep saying, a must-win game to advance in the in-season tournament.”

As Middleton said, a win at the Fiserv Forum on Tuesday night will allow the Bucks to advance to the next round, wherein they will get to face either the Boston Celtics or the Indiana Pacers in Las Vegas in the semifinals. The championship game will also take place in Vegas on Saturday, and obviously, Milwaukee will want to play in that game as well.
Be that as it may, you can be sure that the Knicks enter Tuesday’s contest with the exact same mindset as the Bucks. This should be a good one.
