Giannis Antetokounmpo vs. Nikola Jokic Stats Prove Milwaukee Bucks Star Deserves More MVP Love

There’s no denying Nikola Jokic is an elite star who can make any team a contender. The thing is, Giannis Antekounmpo’s numbers this season look better than the Denver Nuggets center, which gives the Milwaukee Bucks star a better case to win MVP.

In the 53 games Antetokounmpo played as of late, the All-Star forward has averaged 30.7 points on 61 percent shooting from the field, 11.4 rebounds, 6.3 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1.1 blocks per contest. Also, the Bucks are currently holding the third seed in the Eastern Conference, with the Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers ahead of them.

Meanwhile, Jokic is having a stellar run this season as well. The All-Star big man is posting averages of 26.1 points on 57 percent shooting from the field, 12.0 rebounds, 8.9 assists, and 1.2 steals per game. Also, the Nuggets have the fourth seed in the Western Conference.

With these two NBA superstars heading into All-Star Weekend, it can’t be helped to pit them against each other in the MVP race. The thing is, Jokic is leading the odds to win the said award, with Oklahoma City Thunder’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander trailing him.

For his part, Antetokounmpo is in third place in the MVP race. This has led fans to wonder why the Greek Freak is behind, even though the Bucks star has the better numbers.

Based on the numbers alone, Antetokounmpo is the clear-cut winner above Jokic. This can be seen better in a question posted by Bucks Muse on X:

How is Jokic so far ahead when Giannis had outplayed him in both of their matchups? https://t.co/EuRksdpVrE pic.twitter.com/n4EB4HAmPH

As it stands, Antetokounmpo’s numbers are just better than Jokic so far, making him more deserving to win the MVP. And while there is still some time before the regular season ends, the Greek Freak’s case to bag the said award should be getting more love.
