Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo took the floor for the first time in the preseason on Sunday against the Los Angeles Lakers. It was also a chance for Giannis to face off against former Bucks teammate Christian Wood, who is now a member of the Lakers after signing with the team as a free agent this offseason.
Antetokounmpo just had to make sure he gave his buddy a warm welcome on the court.
Milwaukee Bucks Star Giannis Antetokounmpo Trolls Christian Wood

At one point in the game, Giannis ended up stuffing Wood’s shot attempt at the rim. Antetokounmpo clearly enjoyed that one, so he decided to post a photo of the block on social media. To add insult to injury, the Bucks talisman even decided to tag Wood on his post:
Giannis really posted a pic blocking Christian Wood and tagged him 😂 pic.twitter.com/uXjKJlOWvL

That’s savage. Then again, you would expect nothing less from Giannis.

NBA Twitter Reacts

Naturally, Antetokounmpo’s savagery took a life on its own on social media. The folks over on Twitter loved the playful jab from the Bucks superstar. More than a few supporters, however, could not help but point out how disrespectful this move was from the former back-to-back MVP:

This a whole mother level of disrespect

Giannis blocking shots and trolling,
a winning combo.🤣

So disrespectful. Joel will have to own him once again this year.

A few others pointed out, though, that these two players go way back. Wood was a member of the Bucks during the 2018-19 season, and although he played just 13 games for Milwaukee, it appears that he was able to build a relationship with Antetokounmpo.
They’re friends at least 😂pic.twitter.com/ZAAxyZPVmE

For Giannis to post this – it’s either he respects him or doesn’t.
I want to say he respects him based on the footage after the game.
He enjoys being around Wood.
