Even the most die-hard Milwaukee Bucks supporter will probably admit that this team has not been able to live up to the lofty expectations many had of them when they traded for Damian Lillard this past offseason. The Bucks have shown flashes of brilliance in their six wins so far this season, but for the most part, it’s just been an uphill battle for this new-look Milwaukee roster.
Zach Lowe Calls Out Milwaukee Bucks
Speaking on Tuesday’s episode of NBA Today, ESPN insider Zach Lowe slapped the Bucks with some pretty harsh reality. According to the renowned analyst, Milwaukee just hasn’t been able to live up to all the preseason hype thus far:
“When I watch the Bucks, it just doesn’t look right,” Lowe said. “Something’s not flowing right. The chemistry between Dame and Giannis just isn’t where we all thought it would be. They’re not running that many pick-and-rolls together. When Giannis goes to the bench, you kinda wait for Dame to go into takeover mode — like Portland-level inferno takeover mode — and it just kinda doesn’t happen.
“Their depth is shaky and got shakier yesterday when Jae Crowder undergoing surgery. They just look kinda slow.
“… They’re gonna be fine. They have to of the 15 best players in the league and maybe an MVP candidate in Giannis. But they have not looked good to me. Even in their wins, like last night (against the Bulls), they had not looked like I thought they would look.”

To be fair, Lowe remains adamant that the Bucks will find their groove somewhere down the road. With Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard in the mix, this team is just too good not to.
Until then, though, Bucks fans will need to live with the growing pains — and there have been a lot of them of late.
