The Milwaukee Bucks needed a vintage performance from Giannis Antetokounmpo on Sunday as they mounted an epic comeback victory against the Portland Trail Blazers.
For his part, Giannis knew that he needed to step it up for his team if they were going to escape with a win. And so that’s exactly what he did.
Giannis Antetokounmpo Comes Up Big for Milwaukee Bucks

Giannis turned in another wonderful performance for the Bucks, finishing with 33 points on 11-of-21 shooting, to go along with 16 boards, six assists, a steal, three blocks, and four turnovers in 39 minutes of play. It was his end-game heroics, however, that prompted some high praise from head coach Adrian Griffin:
“What can I say?” Griffin said, via Eric Nehm of The Athletic. “(He’s) just an incredible leader, just has a great will to win and willing to do whatever it takes. On the defensive end, he’s getting stops, he’s getting blocks. He’s getting defensive boards. On the offensive end, whatever it takes. He’s coming up with huge offensive rebounds.”

Not only did Antetokounmpo score the go-ahead bucket with just 18.5 seconds remaining in the final period, but he also came up with a game-sealing block on the opposite end in the succeeding play.
His all-around performance on Sunday is a clear testament to the fact that Giannis Antetokounpo still remains one of the most dominant two-way players in the game today. Coach Griff obviously agrees.
