Milwaukee Brewers’ number six ranked prospect Brock Wilken has been dealing with injuries this season in the minor leagues. On Thursday in Double-A for the Biloxi Shuckers against the Montgomery Biscuits, he hit a two-run homer in the first inning.
It was his first home run this season in the minor leagues. Biloxi won the game against Montgomery 9-8. Wilken went 1-for-5 in the game and that was his only hit in that contest. He has only played in nine games this season in the minor leagues.
Overall, Brock Wilken has a .235 batting average with one home run and two RBIs, along with one stolen base and two caught stealing attempts. Wilken also has an on-base percentage of .297 and a slugging percentage of .412.

#Brewers‘ Brock Wilken is already back from having his face smashed in, and is batting .308 in those first 3 games returning to AA.
Took his first walk of the year in that span, and here’s a clip of his first dinger.
Maybe the football-style face guard is good luck! https://t.co/HcsaBu0oIW

Milwaukee Brewers Prospect Brock Wilken Is One of the Best Hitting Prospects In the Farm System
Wilken is 21 years old and is not projected to be up in the big leagues until 2025, but he has all of the tools to be a very good hitter in the MLB. This will not be the last time this year that Brock Wilken will go yard. His name will be heard across the Brewers organization for the rest of the spring and the summer as long as he can stay healthy.
Wilken is playing third base for the Biloxi Shuckers at the Double-A level. He could have a chance to be called up to the Triple-A level with the Nashville Sounds at some point, but Brock Wilken will need to show consistency at Double-A before making the move.
He bats from the right side of the plate and also throws right-handed. Wilken was the 18th overall pick in the 2023 MLB Draft. Some of the scouting reports on MLB.com about him are as follows:
“The right-handed slugger relies on the strength in his upper half to generate bat speed and loft that helps him send balls over fences in bunches. He can look almost hunched over the plate before ripping at the ball with a slight step as a lower load. Wilken’s swing decisions improved over his time at Wake, and while he’ll take his walks, the early strikeout concerns that emerged in college could return against more advanced pro arms, as they did in his small Double-A sample.”
At the moment, he is the number sixth-ranked prospect in the Milwaukee Brewers organization. In nine games played this season, Wilken has struck out nine times at the plate, but his power and eye at the plate will develop over time.
