Milwaukee Bucks: Donte DiVincenzo Pulls Off Stunningly Rare NBA Feat Last Done By Damian Lillard

Donte DiVincenzo went full Milwaukee Bucks star Damian Lillard on Tuesday night, as he exploded for 33 points on 11/22 shooting from the field to help the New York Knicks score a 118-103 win at home over the Utah Jazz. He did most of his damage behind the arc, as he drilled nine of his 15 3-point attempts. DiVincenzo did not forget about playing defense, though, as he recorded four steals to go with five rebounds, all in 39 minutes of action. He was so good, that he became just the second player ever to post a 33-9-4-0 stat line — the same masterpiece Damian Lillard painted back in 2016 when he was still with the Portland Trail Blazers.

    Donte DiVincenzo tonight:

    33 PTS
    9 3PM
    4 STL
    0 TOV

2nd player in NBA history to reach those numbers in a game (Dame in 2016).

DiVincenzo took full advantage of the nod to start amid the absence of Julius Randle due to injury, and he’s likely to stick with that role as long as he’s answering the call for New York.

Lillard is still very much capable of pulling off such a feat, as he remains a dangerous offensive weapon for the Milwaukee Bucks. He’s been struggling of late with his shot, but once he gets it going again, opposing defenses are bound to get torched by Dame.

So far in the month of January, Lillard is averaging 23.5 points on just 38.8 percent shooting from the field and 28.3 percent from deep. It’s high time for Lillard to go on one of those hot stretches, which he could potentially begin this Wednesday when he takes on his former team, Portland, on the road.
