Doc Rivers Gets Hilariously Honest on Biggest Challenge Since Becoming Milwaukee Bucks Head Coach

Without a doubt, Doc Rivers is one of the few coaches in the NBA who has done it all, including winning a ring. But according to him, there’s a far bigger challenge facing him in his latest coaching gig for the Milwaukee Bucks.

Ever since he made his debut last January 24 against the Denver Nuggets, Rivers has a 3-6 record with the Bucks. This has led fans and critics alike to raise place more pressure on him since Milwaukee held the second seed in the Eastern Conference before Adrian Griffin was fired.

At this point in time, Milwaukee has dropped to third place, with the Cleveland Cavaliers taking the second spot after the Boston Celtics. At the same time, Giannis Antetokounmpo’s MVP campaign is being overlooked in favor of Nikola Jokic and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander by critics and the media.

Even if there’s more pressure for Rivers to win a ring for Milwaukee, it seems that there’s a far bigger challenge laid out in front of him right now.

Milwaukee Bucks’ Doc Rivers Jokingly Shares the Biggest Challenge He Has Faced as the Team’s Head Coach

While the immediate concern for Rivers is to win more games for Milwaukee, he’s actually swamped with another challenge. He jokingly explains his current predicament in a post by Gabe Stoltz on X:

Doc Rivers on the biggest challenge he’s faced as taking over as the Bucks’ head coach:

“The hardest thing, honestly, is remembering everyone’s names,” he chuckled. “The veterans are laughing because with some of our rookies, I just start calling them all young fella,” Stoltz wrote.

Even with all the criticism being hurled at Rivers, the Bucks’ head coach still finds an opportunity to spread joy. With a couple more months before the regular season ends, there’s still hope for him to remember everyone on the roster before Milwaukee starts its playoff campaign.
