Multiple reports have confirmed that the Milwaukee Bucks are working hard to shore up their roster ahead of the February trade deadline. A name that has caught the attention of fans is former All-Star combo guard Dejounte Murray, who is reportedly a trade target for the Bucks as well.
NBA insider Marc Stein has added more fuel to the fire as he confirmed not only Milwaukee’s interest in the 27-year-old but also, that the Bucks are doing what they can to join in on the Dejounte Murray trade sweepstakes.
RUMOR: Milwaukee Bucks Want Dejounte Murray
In the latest edition of his Substack (paywalled), Stein reported that the Bucks’ front office is indeed looking at the prospect of bringing in Murray from the Atlanta Hawks:
“The Milwaukee Bucks are trying to barge their way into the trade chase for Atlanta’s Dejounte Murray,” Stein reported (h/t NBACentral on Twitter).
This new report coincides with another report by league insider Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report stating that the Bucks are “among multiple teams who are registering interest” in a potential blockbuster trade for Murray.
Stein and Haynes are two of the most reliable sources in league circles right now and for both of them to connect the same player to the Bucks is definitely worth taking note of.
No Clear Path for Bucks
Another thing that is also worth noting is that in both reports, it is clear that the Bucks are not the only team that is trying to recruit Murray. This does not come as a surprise at all considering this man’s credentials.
The Los Angeles Lakers are one of the teams that have already been identified as a known suitor for Murray. In fact, they appear to be the frontrunners right now with reports indicating that the only reason a deal has not been reached is because the Hawks are trying to find a third team to take on D’Angelo Russell.
What you can say for sure, though, is that the Bucks aren’t going down without a fight.
