The Kansas City Chiefs have conquered the San Francisco 49ers to win Super Bowl LVIII recently. And like almost everyone in the world right now, the Milwaukee Bucks’ Damian Lillard tipped his hat off to Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and company.
All of this was made possible due to the heroics of Mahomes. The Chiefs’ star quarterback overtime drive led to a game-winning touchdown that sealed the win for Kansas City, making it his third Super Bowl victory. It also marks the second time he has made a game-winning touchdown for his team.
On the other side of the fence, the 49ers started Super Bowl LVIII hot as their defense suffocated the Chiefs early on. They did a good job in containing Mahomes, took Kelce out of the game, and didn’t allow Kansas City to find their groove at that point in the game.
And while Super Bowl LVIII started slow, the finish had everyone hanging on the edge of their seats. In the end, the Chiefs got the better of San Francisco, making it the second time in NFL history a Super Bowl went to overtime.

Like everyone else in the world right now, the Bucks’ Damian Lillard expressed their awe and disbelief at how the Chiefs won the Super Bowl this year. Here is the All-Star point guard’s perfect reaction posted on X:

In stark contrast to Mahomes and the Chiefs, there’s no guarantee Lillard and the Bucks are going to win the championship this year. While his duo with Giannis Antetokounmpo is one of the league’s best, the team’s current issues surrounding Doc Rivers’ hiring, his recent losing skid, and the firing of Adrian Griffin have cast a dark cloud on Milwaukee.
Even if that’s the case, there is a silver lining to the Bucks’ season as Patrick Beverley has been acquired to shore up the team’s defense. And if things go well in the coming months, Lillard will get his big moment in Milwaukee, just like Mahomes did recently in the Super Bowl.
