The Milwaukee Bucks currently have a 30-13 record in the Eastern Conference. Milwaukee decided to fire Adrian Griffin Jr. as head coach on Tuesday. Sources told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski that the Bucks are expected to make Doc Rivers the next head coach of the team.
Rivers has been with the ESPN broadcast team this season. He will now transition out of that role.
It is unknown what caused the Bucks to fire Griffin Jr. This feels a lot like when the Cleveland Cavaliers fired David Blatt during the 2016 season and made Tyronn Lue the head coach and won an NBA title the same season with Lebron James against the Golden State Warriors.
Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard are the main players on the Bucks and Doc Rivers will be good for the both of them. They were very good on offense with Griffin Jr. but not very good on defense.
Rivers has only won one NBA Championship before and that was with the Boston Celtics in 2007-2008 with Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Rajon Rondo, and Ray Allen. Some people don’t like Rivers as a head coach knowing he has struggled in the NBA playoffs.

The Bucks will now be in championship or bust mode with this move. If they don’t win an NBA Championship this season with Rivers as head coach, they are going to be made fun of for it on Twitter. The NBA playoffs will be very interesting this season when the time comes.
