The champ is back. Milwaukee Bucks star Damian Lillard is out to defend his crown in the upcoming 3-Point Contest in Indiana this February. While he’s at it, the eight-time All-Star will also be looking to match a long-standing franchise record — one that is currently held by Bucks icon Ray Allen.
Milwaukee Bucks Star Damian Lillard Will Return to 3-Point Contest
According to Chris Haynes of NBA on TNT, Lillard has agreed to take part in the 3-Point Contest of the upcoming All-Star weekend. He won the competition last season and will now be looking to defend his crown against a currently unnamed list of competitors.

Although, if you ask Bucks sharpshooter Malik Beasley, he is adamant that he deserves a shot at the 3-Point competition to challenge Dame for the crown.
If, however, Lillard is able to bag the title for a second year running, he will be the first player to go back-to-back since Jason Kapono did it in 2007 and 2008. Moreover, Dame is looking to be the first Milwaukee Bucks player to win the competition since Ray Allen took home the crown way back in 2001.
That’s a good 23 years ago and Lillard would love to make even more franchise history in his first season in Milwaukee.
Lillard has been deadly from distance this season, averaging 3.0 triples per game on a 34.5-percent clip. It is worth noting, however, that he drained a career-best 4.2 triples per game last year with the Portland Trail Blazers on 37.1 percent shooting.
You just know that Lillard has another gear or two in him.
