Milwaukee Bucks star Damian Lillard did not have his best outing on Thursday night. The seven-time All-NBA point guard finished with 24 points on 5-of-17 shooting, to go along with five rebounds, eight assists, and four triples as he helped the Bucks overcome a feisty Orlando Magic side, 118-114.
Despite the forgettable shooting night, however, Lillard was still able to make NBA history yet again.
Milwaukee Bucks Star Damian Lillard Climbs Scoring Leaderboard
As reported by Gabe Stoltz of Brew Hoop, Lillard now has 20,058 career points. He entered Thursday’s game as No. 51 on the NBA’s all-time scoring list. Thanks to his 24-point effort against Orlando, Dame is now 49th overall after surpassing Antawn Jamison (20,042) and Tom Chambers (20,049) on the leaderboard.
Lillard now is officially part of the 50 greatest scorers in NBA history, which is an undeniably tremendous feat for the seven-time All-Star.
Lillard is not one to make a big thing over his personal achievements. In fact, he pretty much played down the fact that he recently entered the Top 5 for most career triples in NBA history.
For Dame, the most important thing is winning, which is exactly what the Bucks did on Thursday night. That’s now six straight wins for Milwaukee as they keep up the pace atop the East with the Boston Celtics, who are currently half a game ahead of the Bucks with a 21-6 record.
