The Milwaukee Bucks missed the services of Damian Lillard on Monday night as they got blown out of the water by the Utah Jazz at the Fiserv Forum, 132-116. That marked Milwaukee’s fourth loss in five games, which now has them desperately searching for a win.
It’s the Boston Celtics that’s up next for them on Thursday, though, which is why fans have been keeping an eye on Lillard’s status ahead of the upcoming marquee Eastern Conference matchup.
Milwaukee Bucks Will Get Damian Lillard Back Vs. Celtics
Milwaukee supporters will be glad to know that Lillard’s recent spell on the sidelines will end after just one game. This is after Bucks head coach Adrian Griffin confirmed that Dame will be back in action for Thursday’s highly-anticipated clash:
“Dame was back, in good spirits and able to practice,” Griffin said, via Eric Nehm of The Athletic. “…He’ll be available (tomorrow).”
Lillard missed Monday’s loss due to personal reasons. The Bucks haven’t provided any information regarding the matter the seven-time All-Star was dealing with, but the important thing here is that he’s now back in the mix.
Cam Payne Practiced on Wednesday
It is also worth noting that there’s now a possibility that backup point guard Cameron Payne is able to return on Thursday as well. The 29-year-old recently entered the league’s concussion protocol, which forced him to miss Monday’s game.
According to Coach Griff, however, Payne was able to practice on Wednesday and could be available on Thursday against Boston:
“Cam practiced as well today. We’ll see how he feels in the morning,” Griffin said.
Unlike Lillard, though, there is still no guarantee that Payne will be available on Thursday.
