He’s done it. For the first time in his illustrious career, Milwaukee Bucks superstar Damian Lillard has been named as the 2024 NBA All-Star Game MVP. This is after the 33-year-old erupted for a team-high 39 points to lead the East to a mind-blowing 211-186 victory over the West.
Nope, there aren’t any typos there. These two teams really combined for a record-breaking 397 points in what turned out to be a highly entertaining affair.
Milwaukee Bucks Star Damian Lillard Booed by Pacers Fans
Dame’s glorious moment did not come without controversy, though. Despite scoring the most points for his team on no less than 11 triples, the fans in Indianapolis clearly did not agree with the decision to award Lillard with the MVP trophy:

That’s savage.
Obviously, the Indiana Pacers fans in the building wanted to see home-town favorite Tyrese Haliburton bring home the trophy. The second-time All-Star had a pretty outstanding game himself, finishing with 32 points on 11-of-15 from the field and 10-of-14 from distance.
It’s no surprise that the home fans wanted Hali to bring home the hardware.
Be that as it may, it was Dame who was deemed the best player of the game after his incredible performance. Lillard will now head back to Milwaukee with two trophies after recapturing the 3-Point Contest title on Saturday night.
