When talking about potential trade targets from the Chicago Bulls, Alex Caruso is probably the first name that comes to mind for the Milwaukee Bucks. To a certain extent, Zach LaVine has also emerged as a trade candidate for the Bucks, but for the most part, it appears that most of the attention has been on Caruso.
Well, another player from Chicago seems to have popped up on the radar for Milwaukee.
Milwaukee Bucks Linked to Bulls Forward Torrey Craig
According to Dalton Sell of Behind the Bucks Pass, one player that Milwaukee should keep tabs on is Torrey Craig. Sell presents a handful of compelling arguments as to why the 32-year-old should be considered an “underrated trade target” for the Bucks:
“A well-traveled NBA veteran, Craig has always served as a credible 3-and-D wing wherever he’s laced them up. He’s extremely versatile, as the 6-foot-7 veteran can play either forward position and defend a handful of different positions. Offensively, he’ll score around six points per contest while providing solid 3-point shooting. The Milwaukee Bucks could undeniably use another player like that,” Sell wrote.
Sell also points out that Craig has a very team-friendly contract — one that the Bucks should have no issue managing. The former USC Upstate standout is currently under contract through 2025. He’s owed $2.8 million next season, which is something a cash-strapped team like Milwaukee can stomach.
Should the Bulls decide to blow it up toward the trade deadline, LaVine and Caruso are likely to be the big names that are going to garner a lot of attention from interested teams. This could open up a relatively clear path for the Bucks to pounce on Craig.
A Milwaukee Reunion
It is also worth noting that Torrey Craig has a bit of history with the Bucks. He suited up for the team briefly during the 2020-21 season, putting up averages of 2.5 points and 2.4 rebounds in 18 games played.
The numbers are obviously unimpressive, but Craig is the type of player whose contributions go beyond the box score. All in all, the Bucks could do far worse than this dude.
