Is there a scenario in which the Milwaukee Bucks acquire veteran G Alex Caruso from the Chicago Bulls? Chicago is reportedly on the precipice of jumpstarting their rebuild, which means high-priced players (DeMar DeRozan, Zach Lavine, Nikola Vucevic, and Alex Caruso could be on the trade block.)
Milwaukee could use another Swiss army knife player, as Jae Crowder will be out for eight weeks due to a left abdominal and left adductor tear.
Why the Milwaukee Bucks should trade for Alex Caruso
Milwaukee’s defensive issues will persist throughout the season, and they are sorely lacking a guard who can defend at a high level.
The losses of Jrue Holiday and Jevon Carter hurt this team for a multitude of reasons, one of which is that Milwaukee doesn’t have that guy who can guard three positions.
Fans had high hopes that Malik Beasley could defend at a Jrue Holiday-type level, but it was quickly realized that there is only one Jrue Holiday, and he’s not easy to replace. The team acquiring Caruso would fix the problems on defense because not only is he an elite defender, But he could slot in as the fifth starter and play an off-the-ball role with Giannis, Brook Lopez, Damian Lillard, and Khris Middleton.
Milwaukee is starting to give rookie Andre Jackson Jr more opportunities, but are his efforts enough to fix the problems on defense? This defense could be elite if they make this small move to improve their team.
What is the likelihood that the Milwaukee Bucks will acquire Alex Caruso?
There’s a 50 percent chance the Milwaukee Bucks will swing a trade for Alex Caruso.
“Alex Caruso over there in Chicago would be a great addition to the Bucks and I know a lot of people feel that way”

The drawback to making a move like this is that Milwaukee would have to give up MarJon Beauchamp or Bobby Portis. Chicago is high on Caruso, and trading for a premium player like that would require giving up players of equal value.
But Milwaukee making this move would complete their championship push.

Chris Haynes is an idiot who doesn’t know basketball.
AJJ already looks light years better than Alex on D, and Marjon is clearly at least his equal.
And we still have Cam Payne as the 3rd PG if AJJ takes minutes away from him.
It’s categorically NOT a position of need and you don’t trade away the only big man depth and a potential future star for him.
The only way I’d make this trade is if we could dump PatC and Beas for him.
Nothing else makes sense.
Also: the Bulls do need to tear it down, but most teams who do that get rid of the big and expensive stars first. Lavine and Derozan are sure to go. Probably Vucevic. They may keep Alex around for continuity and the fan base.
