Milwaukee Bucks fans are still trying to recover from the fact that Jrue Holiday is no longer with the team. To make matters worse, the two-time All-Star has now joined the enemy after the Portland Trail Blazers flipped him to the Boston Celtics via a second blockbuster deal in the span of a couple of days.
In truth, even Holiday himself is still probably feeling the aftershock of what has been a rollercoaster week for him.
Jrue Holiday Already Looking Forward to Milwaukee Bucks Showdown
November 22. This date is when the Bucks will take on the Celtics for the first time this season. The game will be at the TD Garden, which means that Holiday will get to host his former team and his ex-teammates in his new stomping ground.
At this point, it appears that the 33-year-old has already encircled that date on his calendar:
“It should be fun,” he said, via Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe.
That will be the first of four regular-season meetings between Milwaukee and Boston. The Bucks get to host Holiday and Co. on January 11 at the Fiserv Forum, and you can be sure that that will be an emotional homecoming for the former Bucks star combo guard.
New Look Sides
With Holiday now in the mix, Boston will have a very different-looking side this season. Jrue is expected to start at the one spot for the Celtics alongside Derrick White. The duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown will pick up the forward positions, while newcomer Kristaps Porzingis will start at center.
To a certain extent, the same can be said for Milwaukee. New head coach Adrian Griffin will have a few starting lineup combinations to choose from, but you can be sure that Khris Middleton, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Brook Lopez will still be starters. Damian Lillard will also start at point guard. Pat Connaughton or Malik Beasley could start at shooting guard. Middleton could also slide down to the two-spot to open up the small forward position for Jae Crowder.
