It has been a bittersweet past couple of days for Milwaukee Bucks fans. The arrival of Damian Lillard via a stunning blockbuster trade has propelled this team as one of, if not the top title contenders for the title this coming season. At the same time, however, the Bucks have had to bid farewell to Jrue Holiday and Grayson Allen, who are now being shipped off as part of this blockbuster deal.
Holiday, in particular, has been an integral part of Milwaukee’s core over the past three seasons, and there’s no denying that they probably would not have won that chip in 2021 had it not been for the two-time All-Star.
Jrue Holiday’s Farewell to Milwaukee Bucks
As much as Milwaukee fans have grown to love Holiday through the years, the same can be said for the 33-year-old’s feelings towards the organization and the city. Holiday has now penned an emotional farewell letter, and it is sure to give supporters all the feels:
“Thank you, Milwaukee
“Thank you fans! For those who know me best, they know we are all about family.
“Milwaukee – you welcomed me and my family into your city, into your homes, int your hearts.
“We will forever be champions together, and me and my family will forever be grateful and thankful.
“Until next time, thanks for everything!”

Holiday kept is short and simple. However, there’s no denying that the impact of this brief message will be felt across the city of Milwaukee.
What’s Next for Jrue Holiday?
Holiday is now headed to the Portland Trail Blazers. However, he is not expected to remain with the team. Reports indicate that Portland will be looking to deal the All-Defense point guard as they look to add more future-facing assets.
Holiday is one of the best two-way guards in the NBA right now, but he does not fall in line with the Blazers’ current timeline. The team will now focus on building around rookie Scoot Henderson, and the fact that Holiday will still command some solid value on the trade market gives them an opportunity to acquire more assets for their rebuild.
At this point, it remains to be seen where Holiday will end up playing in 2023-24.
