When talking about Milwaukee Bucks veteran Bobby Portis, one of the first words that comes to mind has to be “intensity.” The 6-foot-10 big man isn’t exactly a star but there’s no denying that the intensity he brings for the Bucks — both on and off the court — is what makes him such a valuable member of the squad.
Oh, and he’s a pretty good ball player, too.
Milwaukee Bucks’ Bobby Portis Reveals Biggest Idol
In a recent edition of the Bucks’ Fresh Takes segment on social media, the players were asked to share their all-time favorite jersey. For Portis, this opportunity presented itself as a chance to honor his biggest basketball idol, Kevin Garnett:
“Favorite jersey of all time is Kevin Garnett,” Portis said. “That’s my favorite player. All time. Hands down favorite player. Timberwolves, KG jersey. Throwback. I got one at the crib too, right now.”
I guess it’s safe to say that Portis’ favorite player is KG, right?
This obviously explains a lot.
While Portis is an excellent basketball player in his own right, there’s no denying that he’s just not at Kevin Garnett’s level. In truth, very few players in the history of the NBA are.
However, what these two players have in common is their passion for the game. Much like KG, Portis is the type of player who wears his heart on his sleeve. There are no pretensions for this man either. What you see is what you get.
Portis grew up watching Garnett and the Bucks vet obviously patterned his game to the Hall of Fame power forward. No wonder Portis attacks every single moment on the basketball court with an unbridled sense of intensity.
